AUGUST 18 -- A Letter from the President – Jeff Tayler
Club Update and a Couple of Reminders
Greetings Club Members!
Summer is moving along at a fast clip and before you know it ski
season will be here! We wanted to pass along a couple of reminders
as we move towards fall and give you an update on some of the club
changes the board has been working on. First the reminders:
Saturday, September 18th -- Caberfae Ski Club Golf Outing at
Caberfae Peaks. See the
information from Ron and Lou Kimball.
Saturday, September 25th -- Fall Work Bee (9:30 a.m. at the Club)
And now for the updates…
The top “write in” topic from last year’s survey was an upstairs
fireplace. The Board has agreed if donations totaling $4,000 are
secured from members the Club will match the remaining $4,000
necessary to install a Gas fireplace and mantel that will also serve
to heat the upstairs. Stay tuned for more on this from Pat Goggin.
Sue came up with a good idea for Friday Fish Fries. They have been
reinstated on Fridays at 6pm. Sue will check halfway through the
season and as long as we have around 20 attendees per meal it will
continue through February.
With input from members and a lot of discussion here’s where we
landed on Saturday evening meals. On a monthly basis there will be
one “traditional” buffet dinner-similar to what was done in the
past, one family orientated dinner (easy and inexpensive) starting
in late afternoon and one “heavy” appetizer event in early
evening. One evening a month there will not be a scheduled dinner.
The Board has approved and Elisha Koenig has offered to shop for
toys to add to the children’s area by the entrance to the dining
area.
That’s it for now. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we’re looking
forward to seeing you in September!
Regards,
Jeff Tayler
